Black paws upon snow are always something interesting to see. It makes a person wonder how she could possibly survive on this terrain, opposing everything that surrounded her. She took her steps carefully, for she was able to smell that there would be scent markings coming up soon. A land of a wolf pack, or a new beginning of one. You could never know until you meet them. Although, so far it only smelt like one wolf. A very powerful wolf at that.
There they were, the scent that tells you to turn around and go back where you came from. The place where you change your mind as to where you want your life to lead you. The decision of stepping one paw into a claimed territory was a large decision to make for a younger wolf like Akailia. A new beginning.
Timidly she let her paws take her forward, passing the warnings to never step beyond. Her muzzle was kept close to the ground as her tail tucked between her back flanks. Her eyes scanned the horizon, waiting for the leader to show himself to her. She could smell he was older, and he knew of her presence. He would show his powerful wolf bodice soon, she whimpered submissively. She would never be able to predict how he would react.

The constantly flow of the steam, babbling over rocks and flaked with melting snow never ceased to amaze Skaar. The constant flow of motion seemed so restless and energetic nd yet made him sleepy to watch. His nose hung just above the water, his one good eye half closed, the other scarred one fully shut. The sound was what calmed him, it was sweet and promised life... A comment on the eternity of life. Even if he did not endure forever life did. In one way or another it endured.
Skaar flicked his head up the moment the wind picked up. He could taste another on the wind. Close... too close to not have noticed the markings warning others to back off from his hunting grounds. Raising swiftly he looped off towards the source with a padding gait, his tail thrashing back and forth to show his annoyance. Padding up a snow covered hill he halted, his single eye soon clamping on the intruder.
It took a brave soul to stand under Skaar's gaze for long. As large as his species could get, Skaar stood an impressive height with a considerable bredth of shoulder and powerful legs which supported the massive bulk. His form rippled with muscle under the dark grey coat, marred only by scars here and there which were drawn like waxy lines across his fur. His lips peeled back into a snarl as he thundered down the hill towards her, his head low to the ground, lips peeled back to show his fangs in a silent snarl. His eye glaring at her balefully.
She was an odd creature, dark as night and at an utter contrast with the land around her. Almost as if she was the result of some cruel joke, painted black as some jest. She could never sneak, not in broad daylight in this snow. Not unless she had worked out some trick long forgotten by others of their kind. Skaar growled, low and warning. The muscles in his shoulders and back bunched as he watied for the new-comer to announce her presence or back away. He knew she would not fight, no she was no foolish cub attempting to snatch what was his. She would not fight him unless he attacked first.

She promised herself that she would stay strong through this. For she had to. She had to get into a pack in order to survive. A wolf without a pack is like a human without a house. It's a lot harder to survive, but it's possible.
Kept kept her stance close to the ground as she felt a vibration of a figure coming over the hillside. It was a very large wolf, but she expected that. Any wolf that claims this land so quickly and a large land at that, is bound to be huge. And he didn't deceive her. But when he came over the hill she quit whimpering and raised her head a little from the ground. That might have been a mistake, she might be attacked now. She was on her toes, and ready for it.
Akailia wasn't the strongest wolf around, but she wasn't to bee looked over. In her old pack, she was the fastest. Every part of her figure was built for speed. Speed for hunting ... and escaping. Rather quickly.
She nodded as his gaze penetrated hers. She wasn't one to speak much, her eyes spoke for her most of the time. She avoided words, it was how she was taught. Actions speak louder than words. "I am Akailia. Do you have a pack, wolf?" [/i] In the wolf world, being called wolf was like sir or ma'am. She was trying to be polite. She was desperate.[/blockquote]

Standing firm in the face of danger showed she had courage, it took a great deal to stand alone in strange lands, before another creature and have ones bravery remain unbroken. The wolf rose his head slightly and instead of remaining still took to pacing back, his head always turned to allow him to keep his gaze on her.
From the smell of her she was nota. No pack. Perhaps she was looking for just such a thing to join. After all a new wolf in these lands could be incredibly appealing, particuarly for those savage creatures that dwelled within the mountains. Curl-tail's and mongrel cubs all of them.
His eye took in all the details of her form. She was lean and could run to match the western wind. She would be fleet of paw and no doubt just as wild as the winds themselves. Succh a creature would be a welcome resource for any pack for it was rare those wolves who could run to match the speed of the stag or the doe. At her question he stopped his pacing and turned to face her, single eye glaring at her. Even though his eye looked filled to the brim with a barely contained violence, a savagry only an animal of the wild could display his voice was calm, when he spoke it was like rolling thunder over distant mountains. " No, only the desire to build one and the dream that one day the wolves of my pack will number more than the stars in the ever-lasting sky. My name is Skaar and upon my land it is your paws stray, Akailia." This last comment was not a threat but merely an observation, his hostility seemed to drop for a moment and he sat on his hunchs. " If you wish to pas sthrough I will allow you to rest and hunt, then I will escourt you to the edge of my domain so you may be on your way. Unless it is not safe passage you seek." Lifting his nose he took in the scents in the air for a moment before letting all his senses focus on the new wolf once more.

When she asked her simple question, he stopped. Stopped with his head held high and his gaze with a ferocity to it. She would admit, this wolf intimidated her. But she would not back down. She wouldn't do what she normally did and run away with her speed and never see the wolf again. Akailia had done this many times because she knew her pelt was at risk. She wouldn't put her life in danger to get into a pack.
But this wolf would be an excellent Dragga to follow. He would keep the pack safe and she could tell that he would lead great hunts. She would work for his leadership. He was indeed hoping to start a pack, something she wanted to hear.
As he offered for her to stay, she allowed her fur to settle a little. It always tended to run like waves across her backbone, showing the opposing wolf that she was larger than she actually was. This wolf didn't seem like a threat to her. She carefully walked closer to him and looked at him with a penetrating gaze. "Well, Skaar. I would like to help you with this pack of yours. I can be a valuable addition to it." [/i] She walked up to him and licked underneath his muzzle, a movement that showed that he now led her. She stepped back and bowed her head. Her eyes said everything. She was exposed, he could easily hurt her. It was a secret test for him.[/blockquote] OOC: Hmm, want to finish up this thread and do a hunting thread? I need an exciting thread xD

(( OOC: Sure! I'll finish this then start the new thread tomorrow mornin'! Is late!))
The wolf seemed to relax slightly, his eye strayed from herm ore and more often to flick his gaze over the surronding woodland. As if he distrusted it more than he did her. She had proven herself brave and thus far honest. He could smell no lies from her and in her humility she had been total. A perfect example of a wolf. Quiet strength disguised in a jet black form. He did not notice the hint of her frame being larger than her fur led on.
To say she was a valuble asset would be an understatment. She would be a major part of the pack, for her speed and obvious respect for the ways of their kind would be a beacon onto others who would take after her shining example. When the wolf showed her submission to the pack Skaar merely lowered his head untill his nose was underh er's and tilted her head back upright. " You need not lower your head to me. You are Beta, second. This is my gift." Skaars head whipped upright as he caught a scent on the wind before somthing thatm ight be taken for a grim smile reached his lips. " Let's find a meal." He growled before wheeling and padding off int othe forest.
