The moon hung heavily in the cloudy sky, casting shadows that would creep up and blanket the steep slopes of the mountain passages. The wind was whispering cynical secrets as it whipped through the lands and declared dominance over anything in its path, caking everything in another thick layer of ice. Including the large form progressing proudly through the mist of fog and falling snow.
Amidst the bleak rock and sleet, a Lupo tackles each step with powerful strides, his nose held low to avoid the drought slicing through his thick coat, chilling him to the bone. His expression was a mask of ignorant determination After all, the monster was trained to show nothing more, and nothing less. The only flaw in his cold facade was the nervous glances he would throw over his shoulder every decennary step or so. Sabriel was not alone this time. Another Lupo followed not far behind, though it was hard to pick him up through the thick cloud of ebbing snow. He could smell Remi close by, his scent dancing through the breeze, making the emotionless beast stop his domineering steps whenever it was lost, only to be found again seconds later.
This weather was destructive and exhausting to travel through. Only the dedication to protect and find his companion a home was keeping him on his feet. Remi was large like himself, with a thick coat, and although the storm was painful and frustrating, he knew there was a pack somewhere within the haze up ahead. Sabriel had heard the Drappa was strong and her pack was impressive. This was a place Remi would be safe, if only they could meet with the Alphess and somehow convince her to take them in. Though, he had also heard that the wolves on the mountain were very territorial. This was the reason Sabriel had drifter further ahead, keeping his accomplice a safe distance behind.
Slowing his foot falls, the larger Lupo cocked his head and ignored the chilly sting as he peered through the flurry. Up ahead was a crevice in the rocks, big enough for at least one of them to take shelter from the storm. He flicked his auds and turned his head, squinting in to the distance behind him. Where was Remi? He couldn't smell him anymore, and slowly his anxiety crept up his throat, exiting his jowls in a low rumble. The wind was playing with him, scattering the Grey wolf's scent all over the place. It wasn't long before he found it again.
"Remi! Come quickly, there is shelter up ahead! You need to rest!" He paced softly, finding an elevated slate of rock in which he stood and looked on for his friend. Remi was larger. Not in muscle or height, his weight was astounding and it took him a little longer to trek through the snow. Sabriel knew this and was very patient with him. It just made the Eastern very, very paranoid. He lifted his head and squinted up at the sky, his hackles raised in defense at nothing but the impenetrable blizzard.

!" Remi shrilled over the wind. He lifted his nose up and looked at the sky. He wondered how long it would last- the storm that is. Remi looked down at his paws and lifted them up. Both of them were drenched in melted ice and that bothered him completely. The Lupo looked around for the shelter his protector announced and then looked over at the face of the Lupo. " I was playing in the snow." Oh he didn't want to worry Sabriel and tell him how he fell. He hated telling people he fell, although it happened once every ten minutes. He didn't know how long they have been travelling, but he knew it was longer than ten minutes. [/ul]

Sabriel always seemed to be scolding the younger wolf for fooling around. He wasn't daft though. He knew Remi wasn't playing around in the snow, at least not on purpose. He had noticed the length difference in one of the Grey's legs months ago. Most wolves looked over that little fact and blamed the inbalance on his weight. Sabriel never brought up Remi's problem, he wasn't that insensitive.
"It's dangerous around here. You should be more careful." He stared at him for a few seconds, looking for any injuries the lupo may have sustained on the journey up the mountain. When he found none he turned and padded past him, flicking his tail indifferently, "Come on. I found somewhere for us to take a break."
He didn't wait or even look behind him now that Remi was close by. Sabriel didn't like showing his weakness, especially to the cause of it. Remi had turned the beast in to a paranoid fool. It went against everything he had been taught and bred for. Emotion was blinding, it just got in the way. Bree couldn't see how Remi could possibly get in the way. In fact, the large Lupo could be considered even more bloodthirsty than before, now that he had something to protect.
The crevice was in the side of a large crag, nearly hidden by the snow that clung to the stone around it. He stopped out front and carefully lowered to his haunches, directing his companion inside. It was only big enough for one of them. "Take a break. I know you're tired." Sabriel lifted his nose to look down on the other wolf, his tail thumping impatiently in the snow, "I'll look around out here. For any signs of wolf. Do not leave this nook. Do you hear me, Remi?" His tone was authoritative. He had dominance over Remi, he always had. "If you do and you get killed, I will not be responsible for your death. I will not mourn either."
It was hard to tell if that was the truth. Sabriel had never cried or showed anything but a short slice of regret here and there. Never in front of anyone, never in a situation where he would be judged weak. He waited patiently for Remi to respond, sitting irritably in the snow, listening for any other movement inside the agonizing screams of the storm.

" Remi whined; he was desperately tired and hungry though. He padded over towards the dry area and into the small crevasse. He already felt claustrophobic, but he didn't want to say anything about it. He dropped to his belly and curled his arms under his chest. He placed his nose to the rocky floor and sniffed the air. He wondered if what Sabriel said was true, that he wasn't going to regret if Remi died. Remi wouldn't leave anyways; the lupo was too smart for that. He knew that Sabriel would get mad and he didn't want that. Sabriel scared him, despite how soft he acted around him. He was still older and a stronger lupo. Remi's stomach growled underneath him, his lack of food was always a weakness of his. " I understand." The Lupo closed his eyes and tries his best to ignore his irritated stomach that seemed to hate him at that very moment. He whimpered softly at the next noise his stomach made and lifted his head. His eyes remained closed, in fear that he would realize how he was in that small space yet again. Remi hated the closed spaces and he felt guilty if he told Sabriel. He opened his eyes and looked around for the older wolf. He wondered if Sabriel would have killed him on the spot if he didn't meet him when he was a pup. Other wolves poked fun at him all the time, Remi wondered if he was really THAT annoying. [/ul]

Inochitori was rather bored today. There wasn't much to do and the things he was able to do were all terribly boring. There was only one good thing about today and that was the impending blizzard. He loved snow, loved blizzards, and had missed them since moving. Or rather, he was just discovered how homesick he had been and how much he had missed things like white outs. There wasn't anything about his family he missed, especially not his father, and he had been happy with the forests and other places he had traveled so it was only once he was back in the frozen environment that he realized that he had missed it at all. It had taken a while to retrain his senses for the snow but he was now able to pick up most scents, it was harder to detect scent in snow than in forest, and he wasn't the least bit snowblind. Tori was half Arctic wolf, he was made for this, he had been raised in it, and he had been trained in and for it.
Boredom just lead to more boredom and Tori wasn't the lazy type so he decided to get off his lazy butt and do something about it. With a sigh he pushed himself up, evening out his weight on all four of his small feet before shaking off his coat. The snow fell off in clumps, landing onto its brethren with a dull sound, and Tori's darker locks were revealed like a cape along his back and down his left arm. There wasn't much to it and it was clear that he was a white wolf with a bit of marking because there was very little blending of the white and black. The fur texture was different hear, almost silky, and it was all thanks to his Mexican father. He was proud of it, Tori was proud of every inch of his body as it was so of course he would be. Black ears pivoted in search of any sound that was the least bit interesting, deep amber eyes searched for any speck of life... And both ears and eyes found nothing. How boring.
With another sigh, Inochitori took off in the direction the wind was headed. If this direction was good enough for the wind, then it was good enough for him. He walked tall and confident, his tail swaying behind him like the train on the end of a great ruler's coat. His posture might have been considered too big for a Venatoro but the higher ranks weren't around and he always managed to drop to a more respectful position in nanoseconds so he really wasn't worried. It wasn't like he was trying to take over the pack or show himself as being something different than what he was, he was simply Inochitori and this was how he was. The Drappa had accepted him like that so he saw no reason to try to change, besides he was pretty sure such an attempt would fail anyway. To be himself was the reason he left home, those who disliked it would just have to deal.
Ears suddenly perked and focussed on a spot just ahead of him. Mouse. He wasn't hungry but he was bored and finding and killing a mouse in the snow was a great pasttime of his. When wasn't it a good time to find something to kill anyway? Muscles tensed and Tori leaped forward, nose first into the snow like a fox would. No luck. He pulled his muzzle from the snow and shook his head, huffing to get the snow out of his nose before it melted and drowned him. He quickly pounced again and the little creature scurried from underneath his paw. "Hah, see? I'm pretty good at this, you won't get away." He grinned and quickly pounced for the last time but in midair he caught a scent that shouldn't have been there. He legs locked and shook his shoulder blades hard with the force of meeting the ground. It was true that he was out of the official territory of Blizzard Moon, but if you asked him, whatever the snow touched was theirs.
His amber orbs locked in the direction of a crevasse in the mountain that he had recently learned about. It was a little ways before him and a bit to the side of where he was currently. Whether he felt their territory carried out here or not, he did not treat it the same. If there was a wolf, -No, two wolves, he smelled two- they had not committed a crime yet and he would not treat them as if they had. Tori turned towards the rock with that same confident air. Inochitori was the smallest male in the pack, but that was okay, his personality made up for it. "Come out, come out where ever you are~" He called as he trot forward. The storm was picking up and he had to get closer than he normally would have before catching sight of a ginormous male sitting at the entrance. "There you are." Tori sounded pleased and grinned wide at having found them. "I was looking for you." Like it was a game of hide-and-seek or something. As light-hearted as he was and how small and nonthreatening he may have seemed, Tori was not one to be underestimated. He was a trained killer and he loved his work. At least he wasn't bored anymore.

The weather was progressing by the minute. Everything around them was unintelligible underneath the thick layer of snow and ice and the wind was ripping through even Sabriel's thick pelt of fur. Even in this kind of situation, trembling softly from the cold, the large Lupo was content. In a place like this, Remi would be safe. All they had to concern themselves with was the pack. However, if any of those wolves so much as touched Remi, the Eastern would have a fit.
And so he sat and kept a watchful post by the little opening. In all honesty, he didn't care if the Grey was claustrophobic. Dealing with a little anxiety was better than dying from exhaustion and the cold. Sabriel would not let that happen, though the crevice could not be offering much warmth. They needed to meet with this Drappa very soon and either be accepted or turned down. At least if they knew the answer they could find warmth, whether it was on this mountain or not. "Are you sore?" He turned to glance in to the shelter, frowning at the curled up figure inside. He considered laying at the entrance to block out the cold and offer Remi some of his own heat. But that would be giving too much, showing too much of the emotion he was not allowed to.
And so, Sabriel remained his position, grimacing as he listened to the guttural moans coming from in the little cleft. He knew it wasn't Remi making those sounds purposely. They were both hungry, it had been just over a day since their last meal and the walk had been so troublesome on an empty stomach.
"I will find you food." He finally spoke in response to the noise, bramishing his nose to the heavens. Suddenly the larger wolf froze, his muscles tensing up and pulling forward. His fur stood on end as he carefully heft himself to his feet. The scent smelled like pack, too many wolves mixed around the primary scent. And then came a voice through the wind, causing the wolf to let out a snarl very crisp and audible through the raging storm. It didn't matter that the intruder had come in to sight, even if Sabriel was a behemoth compared to the little thing in size.
It was one of the killers traits. Never underestimate anything, especially not on size and intelligence. "What do you want, wolf?" His words were dripping with enough venom as his lips were with saliva. His hackles were raised, legs spaced evenly, ready to force this creature away if he did anything Sabriel didn't like. He carefully moved himself in front of the hole in the rock, blocking Remi in and the little patched wolf out. "We are not trespassing on your land. What business do you have with us without your Drappa?"

" Remi muttered. He didn't know what to say to the food; he was thankful but he didn't want to show that he needed it. Remi opened one eye at the smell of another, he could tell Sabriel could smell it too and that only worried him. Remi uncurled his body from the position and stretched out his legs. He lifted his body up to all fours and then mimicked an aggressive pose that Sabriel used. Remi padded forward, but stayed behind the older Lupo's tail. He bore his teeth and puffed up his tail. The black tipped tail flickered and despite knowing he wouldn't be able to do anything- he wanted to. " Who is it?" Oh how he tried to sound intimidating, but the young wolf only seemed to sound like he was just acting. Remi couldn't act tough around Sabriel. He was too afraid that Sabriel might realize that Remi didn't need him anymore and just leave. Remi could have taken on half of what he was put up to. Except he would rather Sabriel do it. Remi flickered his tail and lifted his nose higher. He tried to see over the Lupo in front of him and he found that nearly impossible. Especially since Sabriel was protecting him with all he had. What a great hello the other wolf gave! Geez, it was like he thought Inochitori was going to rip his throat out or something... So, he was only a little off. Sabriel's tone of voice did not cause Tori to waver, his smile and confidence remained. He wasn't intimidated by the larger male's size either. Sure, he was huge, but the bigger they are, the harder they fall, right? Eh, it didn't matter. They didn't smell like a rival pack which meant simply that they were loners, loners in open land. Sabriel was full of questions and threats, but sadly for him, Tori all but ignored both of those things. The Venatoro calmly sat down, looking back at the snow where he would be sitting his bottom down before it touched the earth as if to make sure he wouldn't be sitting on anything strange. He shrugged in response to Sabriel's words, dropping his smile as he did so. What business did he have? Why did he have to have business to attend to? Silly assumptions.
"I'm bored," he stated the truth very plainly. He gave no other explanation of that and didn't question why Sabriel didn't think he was the Dragga to begin with. He knew the leader was female, a Drappa not a Dragga. Inochitori never freely gave information about himself to anyone so while others might have eleborated, he did not. Instead, he picked up on Sabriel's words. Either Teekah's fame was wider spread than he thought or someone had been asking questions. "Do you want the Drappa? Is that why you're-" Amber eyes turned to Remi as his head poked around Sabriel. He couldn't see much of him. The tone of voice that this male used was hilarious. He didn't sound threatening at all but, really, points for intent and for trying. Inochitori couldn't stop himself from laughing. He dropped his head, covering his eyes with arm, his wrist bending over his muzzle. Though he might have seemed very preoccupied in his humor, Tori was still highly alert. He didn't doubt that Sabriel might attack him and he knew that speed, instinct, and quick reactions would really be his only assets in a fight against someone that much bigger than he.
Tori's laughing slowly stopped and he looked up again with a new grin on his silly face. "I'm Blizzard Moon's Venatoro, Inochitori Namida. You are?" His name was not one of the things that he was quiet about, he liked introducing himself. His rank was something he was very proud about and to be able to say his title was something he tried to fit in whenever he could. Tori cocked his head to the side just a little and his eyes passed between both of the larger males. Remi seemed younger and it was crystal clear that he was more submissive. "So, why are the two of you here anyway? Are you looking for us? Because there's really not any other reason to be up here. Going over this mountain for any reason is extreamly stupid so..." He drifted off and wondered what life in Blizzard Moon would be like in the coming years. Would others think them soft after meeting him? It's be their mistake.

"Stay back." Sabriel immediately ordered in Remi's direction, not turning his head away from the smaller creature in front of him. He even went as far as to flick his tail at the large grey, swatting him in the face, trying to get him to back up in to the cave. The Eastern didn't like this Lupo. He was cocky and rather irritating and they had only met seconds before. He took a step forward, though his hackles lowered. He wasn't about to attack, he just wanted to get a better idea of what this wolf was in accordance with the pack.
When he started to laugh Sab flicked his auds forward, his head very gently cocking to the side. It frustrated him, although he knew the smaller candid was not laughing at Sab. The fact that he was laughing at Remi made him bare his teeth again, his jaws clamped together kept from doing anything he would regret. If he hurt this infuriating little bastard, they would have no chance of talking to the drappa on good terms. It would destroy their luck of finding a stable pack. He finally muttered between gritted teeth, "Yes, we want the Drappa."
The mighty wolf glanced back at Remi. Sabriel had wandered a few steps from the crevice, closer to the smaller wolf, though keeping enough distance between them. He didn't want to scare the lupo, Inochitori as he introduced, away. He was their ticket to the Alphess. "I am Sabriel Torein. This is Remi Fritz." He cocked a brow. To this day he wondered if that was Remi's biological name. It just seemed to fit him too perfectly, "We were looking for you. For your Drappa. About joining your pack."
He stopped his advance and slowly lowered back to his haunches, his tail flicking against the snow. He didn't like being civil, or talking to strangers at all. It was pretty much obvious by his irritable mannerisms. "I am seeking protection for my companion, and refuge for both of us. I will do whatever it takes to impress your Drappa." He lifted his chin proudly, his stern eyes never leaving Tori. He still didn't trust him, though he never trusted anyone easily.

" Remi pitched in. " I'm pretty good at hunting." Only because Remi was so fond of eating, he was amazing at getting what he wanted. Getting respect on the other hand, that was difficult. Impressing and showing off was his game, the chunk of missing puzzle pieces of why he was even there was scattered. Remi knew he was good at hunting, Sabriel was good at the difficult stuff and Remi wasn't okay with that. He wanted to be exactly what Sabriel was, not JUST good at hunting. Not JUST good at being able to stand up for himself. No he wanted the whole package. [/ul]

The older male was protective of the younger and that was a little surprising because he wasn't used to wolves looking out for each other in the way Sabriel did with Remi. Maybe the younger male was sickly or dumb or pregnant or something like that. It was possible, he figured. He didn't see anything particularly wrong with him so far though. They introduced themselves and Tori politely nodded in acknowledgement to both of them. They wanted Teekah which he was actually hoping for. The pack was small but it was steadily growing. Sabriel had calmed some, he had obviously hated the way he had laughed at Remi before and he seemed to hate having this conversation or maybe he just hated him period, but he started forward now and sat. Good, Tori wanted to praise him for calming down. They had a valid reason to be here so until Teekah passed her judgement he was fine with their company.
Then Sabriel opened his mouth again and his manners fell apart at the seams again. Inochitori couldn't help but laugh, not quite as hard as he had the last time, but it was still a hearty laughter. "Protection?!" Tori caught his breathe and shook his head, starting with a fresh bundle of laughs. Remi, having fallen silent after Sabriel's reprimanding, piped in with his input and Tori gave an extra exhaled laugh or two as he caught his breath again."That's good, very good," he said to Remi. Maybe he just never grew up. Tori's attention fell back to Sabriel, he didn't want to mess with Remi too much, he wasn't looking to make an enemy out of Sabriel. "If it's protection you're looking for, you came to the wrong place. Are you sure you aren't confusing us with Fenrir Luna or Validus Animus? We don't just take in refugees, you gotta work for it. I hope you're really ready to impress her. If you fail, I might just be sent after you. I kinda like you both, I don't really want to kill you." His tail curled as he sat there and his tone of voice was still light and happy even though his words were anything but.
Fighting Sabriel would be hard to do, but Tori didn't feel that it wasn't impossible. He had the feeling that Sabriel knew his way around a fight. He was older, far bigger, and had that attitude that his own father had tried to instill in him. He needed to let loose, it was unfortunate that he seemed unable to. Even with all these points against him, Inochitori didn't feel a fight against him was suicide even if it probably was. It wouldn't stop him from trying. Hell, Tori didn't know how he was still alive sometimes.

Sabriel could not comprehend why this fool was laughing. Everything he had said was sincere and quite impervious. He huffed, the breath caught in a cloud before his eyes. He watched it disappear and evaporate in to the blizzard, his glare narrowed at the bold little wolf in front of him. "You laugh at me and my motives, wolf?" His tone was sour. The previous voice that had barreled out of him seemed rather ducky compared to this new one, "I should kill you. I would if your name didn't belong to the blizzard moon."
However choleric he was, the large Lupo kept a calm and prideful mask upon his face. Only his eyes, which had grown considerably darker since their introduction, showed his ferocious and inflamed temper. He would not lose himself completely in front of Remi, no matter the situation. If the Drappa asked for it, to test his worth, Sabriel would demand that the chubbier wolf was no where in the vicinity.
The restraint the beast was struggling with was obvious. His muscles were too tense as the little yappy thing threatened him, his lips pinched tightly to keep his teeth at bay. Sabriel's once chocolate orbs were a dark black, his pupils swallowing everything but a thin hazel ring around the edges. The distinct color seemed to flicker and dance as he stared down Inochitori. "Your size matters, pup. No matter what they tell you. It would take a great deal for you to cause me any damage before I squashed your little body."
Finally the large canine stood, swiping a paw in the piling snow. He aimed the ice crystals at Tori's face before turning his large dome back towards Remi. "You may come out now. He is not a threat to us. Not yet." Everything depended on what the Alphess decided. It would probably take a great deal to impress her. Sabriel didn't doubt what Tori had said, though he would do whatever it took to find them a home, somewhere they could rest with the protection of a Drappa and her advocates.
"To answer your earlier question." He turned back to the blotchy creature, pulling his auds back against his scalp, "We are not mistaken. This is the pack we have chosen and we are both willing to prove our significance to your Drappa. Protection is what we are looking for, in return, we will give our loyalty. I will die for a cocky little mongrel such as yourself if I have to. So until she decides we are unacceptable, let us act civil and be a little more courteous with each other."

" Remi replied. " And I don't need protection-" He looked over at Sabriel, he hated talking back to him because he knew he would get in trouble; but he didn't like being talked to like a pup. Sure Remi was still pretty much a pup but he didn't like to be treated like one. Remi looked away from Sabriel- in case the animal was staring him down and angry that Remi spoke out of turn. Oh how everything was up to whomever to the older lupo. Remi leaned forward on one of his front leg and the Lupo wobbled to one side and desperately held his balance. The wind was cold against his nose and he could feel it freezing off. Remi got his balance and then lifted his snout to show no submission. " And there won't be any need to kill us," Remi replied. " We know what we're doing." At least Sabriel knew; Remi could at least follow what Sabriel told him to. The smaller wolf was speaking tough and it didn't fit him. Despite it all- Remi wasn't showing any sign of regretting what he was saying. He was there to make sure both Sabriel and Remi were there. If he needed to act tough to be with him- Remi was going to act tough. [/ul]

He made Sabriel angry again, even had his life threatened, but Tori could only sigh at himself. That wasn't his intention at all, but he supposed he would have acted in a similar way. Inochitori's white tail lay to his left, curling up and then falling back down flat like a feline. Sabriel gave him a small lecture on how size mattered and all that junk and he already knew all of it. Tori didn't make a comment on it though, simply kept quiet and narrowed his eyes a bit. He didn't really feel like dealing with it right now, but should it become a habit to treat him like Remi, he'd have something to say about it. Sabriel swiped snow into his face and Tori was lucky to have quick reactions, even if it was only snow. He turned his face away and shut his eyes to avoid temporary blinding. Inochitori would have normally been happy to take that as a game, it wasn't like snow could really do much of anything, but he couldn't help being rather irritated by it.
A deep growl came from him throat as he slowly looked back at Sabriel. He took no offense in Sabriel telling Remi he wasn't a threat because that was just it, he wasn't. He wasn't trying to be and didn't want to be, he was honestly just bored. Irritated as he might be, Inochitori couldn't stay that way for long, it was more natural for him to be in a good mood. His expression twisted slyly and he quickly hit into the loose snow that had fallen and pilled up beneath him after hitting him in the face, the back of his dainty paw had more power than one would expect of it and his aim was well placed to give Sabriel the same treatment he had received. Tori's 'attack' was for fun, only a tiny amount was for revenge, it was his way of playing.
Amber orbs drifted to Remi as the younger male stepped forward and Tori got a better view of him as the pup, even if he wasn't really a pup, stumbled. Instantly, Tori was curious. So maybe Remi wasn't just an overgrown pup and maybe he wasn't just dumb like he had suspected and decided against, maybe Remi was otherwise handicapped. The Venatoro tilted his head and watched Remi regain his balance and it was good that he has such keen eyes for weakness and other such problems or he might have never noticed the very slight difference in one of Remi's legs. He couldn't quite place what exactly was wrong with it but there seemed to be something, he'd have to pay more attention to it later, he didn't want to seem like he was watching for the weak member of the herd or something. Remi had said he didn't need protection before he became so distracted and Tori gave a small smile, making sure to keep his eyes on Remi so that they didn't drift to Sabriel. His comment wouldn't seem believable if that happened. "No, no of course not."
He did allow his gaze to slowly shift to the larger male then, hovering in a manner that could be read as Inochitori telling him that he knew Remi's words were false. Sabriel's opinion of him was only taken as a compliment even if he really didn't like the word 'mongrel'. He found himself to be much better than a 'mongrel' but he also figured that compliments were rare from the other male so he'd take what he could get. "Well, good luck then." He spoke good-heartedly with a grin because he did mean his words. They should act more civil, he agreed and gave a large yawn to further relax himself. "You're quite the gentleman, aren't you Sabriel?"
He didn't wait for much of an answer because his attention was back on Remi and his grin brightened. "I certainly hope so, it would be far more interesting with you two around, I think." Where was that pretty, little Drappa, anyway? She should be here by now, shouldn't she? Then again, Tori couldn't remember hearing a call for her. He turned his head thoughtful, ears locked on the sky as if trying to hear the echoes of a call that never happened before returning his attention to the pair. "You know, I think you would get Teekah's attention faster if you actually called for her, but that's not really any of my business."

The leviathan didn't even flinch when the slush was thrown in to his face. Slowly he lowered his maw, putting Tori directly in his sight line. He remained still for a few seconds, sizing up the situation. It had not been a threat, merely something playful-or at least something close to playful- because the smaller canine meant no harm. Sabriel would know if he had directed the return fire as an attack of any sort, and since it wasn't, the larger animal didn't know how to respond.
He played with Remi, if you could call the occasional chuckle or push playing, but this wolf was not the beloved little lupo he had taken under his wing. This was a stranger that they hardly knew anything about, besides his current residence and who he followed. He could become a threat at any time on the whims of his Drappa. Sab had been taught to never open up, attachment would be your downfall. None the less, something close to a cheeky grin crossed his dark features, disappearing seconds later once Remi had taken post at his side.
Now he was staring down the grey with incredulous chocolate eyes. He was too prideful to let Remi get away with talking down on him though, no matter how much he cared. "Brat." Without warning the Eastern stood and shoved heavily towards the unbalanced wolf with his shoulder, hoping to knock him down in to the snow. And then, he proceeded to bury him. He meant no harm by it, even if the action looked a little threatening coming from him. "You can pass her judgment on your own, you ungrateful little wretch. If you don't need my protection, I won't give it to you."
There was a moment of immaturity as the large wolf huffed and stomped his paws, and then turning away from both of them, he directed his words at Tori. "I am no gentleman, you fool. I am just not an enemy yet." His tail flicked, batting away falling snow as he padded away from the two, towards another rock rising up from the powdered ice. His claws, large and always kept sharp, helped him climb the icy slope and find some flat ground to perch upon.
Sabriel sat quiet for a few seconds, his bane curling around his side to give what little warmth it could. The land was white and miserable at first glance, but if you could look past that, it was breathtaking. With a grin on his face, despite who could see it, Sabriel tossed his head back and let a magnificent lament cut through the storm. It wasn't often he took advice, but if the cry would get the Alphess to find her way through the blizzard without them pursuing her further, he would give it a try. For Remi's sake. The poor thing hated the wet, and with an instance of paranoia, the wolf glanced back at his two companions with a look that was not entirely cold and vicious. In fact, it seemed sort of warm on the face of such a deadly creature. He snuffled it away and called down to them, whether Remi was still in the snow or not, "It's time to stop fooling around. This is serious, you unforgivable child. Sometimes I wonder why I haven't devoured you.""
