Four days. That's how long it has been since Vereor and Ava have left Blizzard Moon. They have been traveling for four days, which didn't seem bad to Ava it was just... unsettling a little bit. Didn't she have to go to the Fenrir pack and let them know she wasn't coming back? They might worry about her.... well maybe not since she wasn't exactly a member for long. She kind of came in and was there then wasn't. She has been away from them for a total of maybe a week? Maybe longer? Ava wasn't sure, she had a hard time keeping track of what was day or night in the winter wonderland where she was held captive. So they might just think that she wasn't really the pack type and decided to skip out on them. Which... she guessed was okay. As long as they didn't really go searching for her or anything. The last thing she wanted was for them to follow her scent into the Blizzard Moon's pack land and start up a bit of a war. Which she didn't see as a good thing. Akailia probably already had her pups and starting a war with new ones around isn't really a good idea.
Ava opened her eyes as the sun started to peek through the pine trees. She was sleeping under a large pine tree with a few bushes crammed around it. It was warm, cozy and safe. Probably the reason why Vereor picked it last night. Ava glanced to where Vereor had fallen asleep, but he wasn't there. She almost went in a panic mode but then took a few breaths and calmed herself. He was probably just checking the land out, seeing if it had good qualities for a pack to live here. Nothing to worry about. And if there was anything to worry about... she's a smart fae, she can handle it on her own. She had many years before.
Ava stood up and weaved herself out of the bushes then stretched her body. She let out a small whine of pleasure as she felt all her muscles loosen out. She sniffed the air, Vereor mustn't far if she could smell him. Her gold eyes looked did a bit of a swoop over her area, nothing to harm her. The land that they had stumbled on last night was even prettier under the sun. Green pines were everywhere, bits of pine was mostly their ground but there was grass mixed in as well as other plants besides pine trees. It was just the pines that caught Ava's attention. The smell would mask their own, a good defense mechanism. Other wolves could be looking for battle or something would pass over this place like there was no one there. And of course if anyone was to come into the land it would make it easier for them to hide and ambush. Ava also liked how the smell would be able to mask any puppy scent. So they would be all right.
The sun was beating down through the trees harder than it had been. Summer was on its way, but Spring was definitely still hanging on. There were baby birds making peeping noises throughout their travels, and they also landed on family of rabbits. Ava... being the kind hearted one pretended not to notice them. The last thing she wanted to do was make a family of her own after destroying one. The heat made things a little more uncomfortable, but she preferred it to the freezing cold of the mountains. But something else about the land that made it seem perfect to her. She could hear a small running stream. It would be just enough to keep a pack hydrated and clean.
Ava started trotting over to the sound of running water and finally stopped in front of the small stream. It wasn't a flowing river, but it was enough. Ava slowly stepped up and sniffed the water, checking it, and then lapped up a few drink. The water was cool and perfect. She sighed contentedly and lapped up a few more.

Massive paws rattled the branches of the trees as he trotted through the pines. These pines were no doubt the biggest trees he had ever laid eyes on. Sure, some trees were close, but even the trees of Anaria Creek couldn’t compare to these. Their trunks were bald for about half of their length, but at the bottom there was a good amount of brush sporatically placed along these trees. It was truly beautiful. But nothing compared to Ava, of course. She continued to never leave his mind as he scanned this land. He woke up early this morning, making sure that he woke up before her. He refused to ever wake her from her sleep. Sometimes he could be that gentleman.
His nose skidded along the tan grass, picking up any scent that his glands possibly could. He smelled many wolves, but all of them seemed to be loners. There wasn’t a scent here that said they must leave, or even that this land was claimed. Could this be the land that he would share with his love? It was perfect in his eyes, but he just hoped she would think so too. If she didn’t want to live here, then he would move quickly and find something to satisfy her. Speaking of her, she was probably up by now.
He stopped as he felt the ground shake a little bit. Something was coming. He brought his mull up from the ground and his piercing yellow orbs carefully scanned the horizon. His eyes met another pair. It was elkryn. Something in him jumped. This land had plenty of prey too. The leader of the heard didn’t appear threatened, for he was only a single wolf. It snorted at him so he barked back. It was a bark just to show that he acknowledged them. The elkryn stomped his front foot, then scratched the ground with it. They began to move on to other parts of the land. He had to tell Ava.
He quickly broke into a very fast run. With ease he swerved in and out of the trees, becoming familiar with them all at the same time. He smelled for her and caught her scent by the stream. Slowing down, he caught sight of her. He could swear that she got more and more pretty the more he saw her. He howled a short howl to get her attention, and to let her know he was there without frightening her. Walking up to her, he gently nuzzled her neck, “Good morning, love. Guess what I found?”
His voice was smooth and caring, his eyes filled with adorement. He could never get tired of seeing this wolf. [/blockquote]

Argos carefully picked his way through the sparse undergrowth, his head low and nose close to the ground, smelling the foliage for any familiar scents. Although it had been years since he'd last visited the great Pine Forest, or even been anywhere near the land of Halasia, he couldn't help but feel a bit... nostalgic maybe? After all, he'd spent his puppyhood near Karvou, right up to that fateful day he and his sister had... But Argos didn't really want to think about that too much. Yet he couldn't help but watch as distant, slightly foggy memories literally took form and came to life around him. He squeezed his amber eyes shut and shook his head vigorously. This wasn't the time nor the place to succumb to visions again.
When he slowly opened his eyes again, the shadow-wolves were gone. Good riddance. He still had a faint feeling of someone close by, but that was most likely just mind tricks again. The brown-black lupo was slightly unnerved by the fact that he was upwind and therefore couldn't smell if there was anyone deeper into the forest. Hopefully the overwhelming scent of pine needles concealed his presence as well.
Argos wandered further, looking up in awe at the incredibly tall and slender trees. He'd thought that his memories of the forest had merely been distorted by youthful wonderment, but these giants looked as if they were the sole pillars holding the sky aloft. He wondered how old these trees were, if they had always been in this place and if so, if they also remembered the very first wolves to live here.
Absentmindedly, he lowered his gaze from the canopy and then came to a sudden halt. Not far from him, near a small stream, was not one, but two wolves, and they just so happened to be right downwind of him. Well bugger. He'd somehow managed to stumble upon some pack's territory without noticing any scent marks. Though come to think of it, he should have smelled the borders even in his daydreaming. Still, this was a precarious situation. In a moment or two they would notice him, standing there stupidly in the open. Argos' ears flattened and he let out a near inaudible little whine as he tried to make himself appear smaller. His long legs made the end result look like a weird half-squat. Oh well. Might as well make himself look stupid too, then hopefully they won't think of him as much of a threat and let him go on his way (relatively) unharmed.

As Ava drank the water she could hear a fast paced animal heading her way. She lifted her head and perked her ears to listen more clearly. With Vereor not around her she had to be a bit more attentive as to what is going on around her. She couldn't just lean on him to watch her back. Her gold eyes scanned the terrain and stopped once she pin pointed where it was coming from. Relief spread throughout her body when Vereor was revealed from the bushes. He was moving in an excited manner, which made her start wagging her tail. He must think the place is worthy enough to start their pack.
"Good morning, love. Guess what I found?”
"Good morning," she leaned into him and nuzzled him back. She loved the feel of him, strong and safe. They would make a good pair for Alpha's. Now that she has met him there really is nothing else that she wants. She wants to spend her life with him and create something grand. Create a pack that will be strong and able to defeat anything, yet kind at heart. With his brutal force and her soft personality they balance each other out. Though, it also helps that they have both been trained for battle and are rather wise.
"What did you find, Vereor?" She looked up at him with a small smile on her maw. "I think I like this place. It will be great for starting a fa-"
Ava froze as she heard more movements and a new scent drifted in with the wind. What was it? Another wolf? Was this land already taken? But how could it be? There wasn't any scent boarders. Or was it Cain? Ava's whole body went tight at the thought that they would consider following them. You would think that if someone left the pack they wouldn't care. But... Vereor was one of their best fighters. Perhaps they want revenge.
She turned her head towards the area she believed the sound was coming from and ended up staring into the eyes of another wolf. Her white bodice stood still, and her banner stopped wagging. She held her head up high and strong, showing no fear but careful not to give an aggressive stance. Who was this wolf? He clearly wasn't a Blizzard Moon wolf. He seemed to shy away from them too easily and she would have remembered him from when she had gone in those boarders. She was going to say that perhaps there was a pack already here and he was sent to investigate the strange new smells. But why send only one?
"Hello," She said politely, trying to make the situation less stressful, "Is there a pack already here on these lands?"

Vereor’s ears twitched north, south, east then west. He was very aware of their surroundings in order to keep his mate safe. He wasn’t entirely comfortable with this land quite yet because he had a feeling that there were more wolves pawing their way through the pinetreees. If only he had a better nose. That was one of Vereor’s secrets. His nose wasn’t the best, because of a fight he got in with his father when he was a pup. It weakened his sense of smell. Thankfully his hearing made up for it. For as long as he was able to keep Ava safe, he wouldn’t complain. Vereor definitely wasn’t a complainer. He was raised to deal with his own problems, his mother was the only wolf that ever pitied him … Flashing back for only a second his gut dropped.
Good morning. Ava nuzzled him, distracting him from such corrupt thoughts. She was the only one that knew the story. And she would forever be the only one. In the future, he wouldn’t even tell his pups. They would run away from him forever. What did you find, Vereor? I think I like this place. It will be great for starting a fa- He quickly took his eyes off of her and his eyes jolted to see what the movement was. It was another wolf. A good-sized wolf, with a dark pelt. This wolf didn’t seem like too much of a threat, but you could never be sure with the crazy wolves these days.
Vereor made himself look larger than he was. It’s not like he would need it though, for he was a very large wolf. That was the main reason he was granted curator of Blizzard Moon, he was a large fighter. A respectable wolf. He held back a growl as soon as he saw the wolf stop. The wolf made himself look smaller, so there’s no way he was backed up by a pack. Or was he? Could he be faking it so that Ava and Vereor would let their guard down? Was he here to distract them so the pack could attack from behind? Vereor saw that Ava was keeping an eye on the wolf, so he swiveled his ears backward to listen. He was alone. Unless this pack was miraculous at staying quiet, which was possible. His hearing wasn’t perfect. Hello. Is there a pack already here on these lands? She sounded so welcoming, but why? What if this was a trap?
On the outside Vereor would look confident and calm, but on the inside he was just waiting for a wolf to come out of the brush and attack. He had to keep Ava safe. His muscles tightened in his legs now, he was never calm around new wolves. It’s the way he was raised. Vereor wouldn’t speak, he just stayed close to Ava just in case, their pelts swaying in the breeze together. He hadn’t smelled the scent boundaries of another pack, but they could just be travelling through. All of these thoughts trained through his conscience, warning signs to be careful.

The two wolves' gazes locked on him almost simultaneously. Oh yeah, they'd definitely noticed him. Argos didn't know what to think of their reactions. The white one, whom he had now identified as a female, seemed startled by his sudden appearance and he could swear he had seen panic momentarily flash in her eyes. She soon composed herself and held her head high and proud. He could sense that she was still slightly unnerved by him, but wouldn't display any fear.
Her companion, too, stared right at him. Argos was wowed by his size and apparent strength. The lupo could well have been a pack guardian or even alpha with that massive body. And his change of body-language didn't bode well for Argos. He could see the male's muscles bunch under his dark pelt, and for an instant it seemed an attack would be imminent. The moment dragged on, but the male stood there motionless. Argos relaxed his legs, only now realizing he'd been ready to spring up and make a run for it.
Uncomfortable silence was interrupted by the lupa's soft, questioning voice. "Hello. Is there a pack already here on these lands?" Aah, that explained a lot. So they were newcomers to the forest as well? Argos let out a nervous chuckle despite himself. He shouldn't get so worked up about every tiny thing. The dark-furred wolf eased himself up from a squat and made a tiny flick with his tail to signal his good intentions.
"Hello to you as well. I wouldn't know if there are any packs here, as I'm not of this place, but I haven't smelled any scent marks. As far as I'm concerned, this place is not taken."
He furrowed his brows a bit at that last sentence, because he had hoped to stay here on his own for a while. If these two were intent on claiming the forest as their home, he would most likely be forced to leave. Once again.

Ava started to relax a little bit, seeing that the male shrank himself back to make him look less threatening. But still her fathers words rang through her mind. Never let your guard down, even if they don't seem to be threatening. You never know when they will attack. She knew he was right, just because she has had experience with wolves in which she wasn't sure when or if they would attack and the ended up doing so. Vereor being one of them. Though, all that with him was in the past. They were looking towards the future, one in which that involved the two of them working together. She'd have to use her fathers training differently if that was possible. He only showed her how to live on her own, not with a pack.
"Hello to you as well. I wouldn't know if there are any packs here, as I'm not of this place, but I haven't smelled any scent marks. As far as I'm concerned, this place is not taken."
She could tell that no trouble was going to come of this meeting and wagged her tail a bit. The male didn't seem to be such a bad lupo. She even saw that perhaps this meeting could have been fate. If he was looking for a home perhaps the three of them could join and make a strong pack. But she didn't want to be the one to instantly let him in. She knew Vereor probably would want to take further investigation to see if the male would fit what they were looking for. Her gold eyes looked towards Vereor trying to see if he was thinking the same thing. This meeting could make everything that they were looking forward to possible.
Deciding to take a more friendly approach, Ava took a step forward and bowed her head to the male. The only way that this could stay peaceful and friendly was if they were able to feel a little at ease. The way she was hoping to do that was to show respect towards the lupo and try to pleasantly exchange names.
"I am Ava, and this is Vereor." She nodded towards Vereor and then looked back at the stranger, "If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?"

The only place that Vereor’s eyes would dare to venture, was to Ava. He had been pinning his piercing yellow orbs on this newcoming male, trying to figure out when he was going to attack. It was not if to Vereor, it was when. His muscles stayed at the ready, as well as his body as a whole. He would do anything it took to keep Ava safe, he didn’t really care about himself. But there was something about this male that gave him a moderately good feeling, which was rare. He quickly pushed that feeling aside, and watched the male’s body language.
Nothing told him that he was going to attack. So he let his guard down to the norm, not completely relaxed of course. The trigger was when the wolf’s tail wagged and he rested his body out of a tense position. Whether it was an experienced wolf or not, tension always triggered an attack. Every wolf knew that. Hello to you as well. I wouldn't know if there are any packs here, as I'm not of this place, but I haven't smelled any scent marks. As far as I'm concerned, this place is not taken. The wolf’s voice made him seem very down-to-earth, and Vereor would definitely remember that aspect of him. Vereor’s memory was like a computer’s, it never forgot anything unless it was told to. He had told himself to forget some things, for they were just not worth hovering over.
Ava’s smooth, melodious voice then filled Vereor’s ears. I am Ava, and this is Vereor. He loved the fact that she was the one talking, it proved that she was his perfect other half. She had obviously learned that he wasn’t a talker, only around her. She stepped politely forward and bowed her head, Vereor dared to let there be space between them now. It was a test for the new lupo. As she introduced him, he bowed his head as well. Although his eyes still never left the male’s. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your name? Vereor’s deep velvet voice quickly followed her, “Are you just a traveler? Or are do you have a purpose in these woods?” He knew that the wolf was loaded with questions now, but they needed to be answered. After they knew about him, he could know a little about Ava and him. It was only fair … if fairness even existed to Vereor.
His attention went to Ava for a moment. He could never really get over how he deserved her. The separation grew tense, so he moved to be next to her once again. It was a strange thing between them, but some chemistry that had always existed. He focused back to the new wolf, a little anxious for the answers to come.

For some reason Argos felt slightly... optimistic? about this meeting. Of course, he always hoped that things went well on his first meetings with strangers, but even though they often didn't, it never curbed his enthusiasm for too long. He couldn't help it; after all the hardships life had thrown at him, the lupo was still determined to face every new setback with patience. He was certain that some day things would take a turn for the better.
And that day could well be today. The two wolves relaxed even further, and he was especially glad to see the tension leave the large lupo's body. Argos' tail wagging intensified slightly as he saw the pretty white female step forward and introduce themselves. "I am Ava, and this is Vereor. If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" Vereor's deeper voice quickly followed, “Are you just a traveler? Or do you have a purpose in these woods?”
Argos politely returned the bow, sweeping his gaze back and forth between the two, finally keeping eye contact with Ava. Somehow he still couldn't quite look at the lupo without feeling a bit uneasy. "A pleasure to meet you both. I am Argos Thauron, but as it's been a long time since I belonged to any pack, you may just call me Argos." His words brought back bittersweet memories of his home pack. For almost two years he'd tried to avoid meeting them again, making a habit of wandering the faraway lands alone. Yet paradoxically, here he was, back so close to his birthplace. Was it mere coincidence that brought him here, or did his subconscious loneliness play any part in it as well? He briefly wondered what had happened to his family after he'd left.
The dark brown lupo suddenly realized he'd yet to answer Vereor's query and wondered if his long silence gave them any wrong ideas. He certainly didn't want to leave an untrustworthy impression, yet he struggled with coming up a good reply. Licking his chops nervously, he spoke, "I guess a bit of both, really. I have 'traveled' around for years, but this forest just so happens to be near where I was born, so I guess I'm here for a trip down memory lane as well, so to speak."

Playing the pleasant mediator came naturally to Ava, since she has been doing it all her life. On her own she was always cautious of other wolves and stayed on her guard, but to keep things in her favor she had to calm, poised, and at ease. It helped with tense situations and it avoided any fight that came her way. But it really wasn't like she couldn't fight, because she definitely could with all the training her father took her through, she just saw that not fighting was a better way of doing things. Fights were dangerous, they can often leave someone half dead or with a serious injury that may effect their whole lively hood. So it was for the better to not get too hasty and she appreciated Vereor relaxing his muscles a tad and sending off a bit of a friendly vibe. Or at least he was trying too, she wasn't quite sure if the lupo was really feeling it or not.
“Are you just a traveler? Or are do you have a purpose in these woods?”
Ava turned her head and smiled towards Vereor. He sounded like he was interrogating the poor wolf, but she knew some of it had to be done. It was like one big test. Can he withstand Vereor's glares? Is he wolf-y enough to stand with his head held high even in situations like these? And many other questions Vereor might be wondering would be answered. Plus, with the help of Vereor's questions and demeanor it will help Vereor decide whether or not he is a trust worthy wolf to have in this pack and if he would like to invite him in. When felt Vereor step closer, she turned her head back to the stranger to listen to his answers.
"A pleasure to meet you both. I am Argos Thauron, but as it's been a long time since I belonged to any pack, you may just call me Argos."
Ava wagged her tail a bit more frequently once their eyes met. She was trying to encourage him to go on with answering questions and not being too afraid. There was a slight pause and she was wondering if it was because Argos was trying to think of an answer to Vereor's question or maybe he had just not heard it. But soon enough he spoke again.
"I guess a bit of both, really. I have 'traveled' around for years, but this forest just so happens to be near where I was born, so I guess I'm here for a trip down memory lane as well, so to speak."
"Well it's nice to meet you, Argos." Ava said with a smile on her maw, "I have been traveling around myself, I admire you going back to where you were born. I haven't really done so just yet. I'd like too... it's just. I'm not sure if I really want to relive some of those memories. I like to look more towards the future."

Vereor refused to leave Ava’s side now, it was just something that he didn’t like to do. Even if this wolf was trustworthy, or even the best wolf he could meet, he still was unable to trust him. He had to stay on his toes, because he wasn’t even able to trust himself. That’s one of the reasons that Vereor is so protective over Ava. Because when he was her ‘protector’, he wasn’t even able to trust himself with his temper. But now around her he felt like he would be able to control it. Vereor didn’t know this wolf though, and it could possibly have a side like Vereor. Something to keep secret. Nothing is ever as it seems.
After Vereor spoke, this wolf hesitated a slight bit. It made his fangs show for the slightest second, the twitch of his lip made them glimmer. He thought that would be the time, the time where this wolf turned into his true wolf. But Argos’ voice interrupted his thought process, he was planning on how to get Ava out of here safe. I guess a bit of both, really. I have 'traveled' around for years, but this forest just so happens to be near where I was born, so I guess I'm here for a trip down memory lane as well, so to speak. Vereor just nodded, showing that he had listened to his response. He would let Ava do the talking, he would be the observer. Vereor couldn’t see Ava’s tail wagging, judging by the fact that he was now stepping away from her toward the wolf. He stopped himself as he felt the joy energy from her, very welcoming. He wasn’t very close to the wolf, just enough to get his scent a little better. Still not like he thought. An eyebrow raised ever-so-slightly as he heard Ava speak. Well, it’s nice to meet you, Argos. I have been traveling around myself, I admire you going back to where you were born. I haven’t really done so just yet. I’d like to … it’s just. I’m not sure if I really want to relive some of those memories. I like to look more toward the future.
Vereor sighed as he listened, knowing that this was something he was unable to change. So instead of keeping those thoughts, he decided to attempt to lighten the mood. They both needed it. His body took him in a circle, not looking at Argos anymore. He sat down slowly and looked back to Ava over his shoulder. This was basically his goofy body language of saying ‘I’ll be a good boy now.’ The Vereor smirk finished it off. She would know that he was as relaxed as possible, and that he wouldn’t ‘interrogate the subject’ anymore. He looked back to Argos with a straight face, but a calm one. Now he wanted to hear his story, but he would see if Ava caught on to that.

Ava didn't seem to have paid much heed to his short silence, but he could have sworn he'd seen Vereor's fangs flash at him for the briefest of moments. Coupled with the way the lupo persistently kept to Ava's side, it reminded Argos that he was probably an unwelcome stranger to the forest, whether it belonged to the couple or not. Still, noticing the friendly expression on Ava's face, maybe he could yet sway the black lupo's opinion of him.
Argos didn't want to openly admit it, but his loner's days would have to end soon, one way or another. After years of living, no, merely surviving on his own, Argos' situation was growing dire. With no one else to aid him in his hunting, he was getting progressively weaker and hungrier. Already he could feel ribs poking out from under his ragged coat. He wondered if these two had any idea of just how desperate he was to find a welcoming pack. If only he could keep his special mental condition a secret for a few months, he'd have enough time to regather his strength before inevitably moving on.
Vereor stepped closer to him, demonstrating his silent control over the situation. Argos realized that while Ava would mainly be the one talking, it would be large lupo's final word that determined the outcome of this situation. The dawning awareness dared Argos to finally meet his gaze evenly. He was determined not to be pushed away so easily this time. Once again it would be Ava's soft and soothing voice that grounded the moment before things got too tense.
"Well it's nice to meet you, Argos. I have been traveling around myself, I admire you going back to where you were born. I haven't really done so just yet. I'd like too... it's just. I'm not sure if I really want to relive some of those memories. I like to look more towards the future."
He saw Vereor move to sit down, facing away from him. If this was his way of saying 'I won't interfere', then fine. Argos let his tail twitch a couple of times again. In response to Ava's words he merely muttered "You have no idea," under his breath, not really caring if they had heard him or not. He wasn't really sure if he wanted to relive his puphood memories either, but here he was anyway.
He sensed they were expecting him to say something more, but he really didn't feel like revealing too much about himself so soon, especially since he really didn't know much about his audience yet. For all he knew, the pair's behavior could well be an act to learn more about this intruder and he wasn't about to let his guard down so easily. But in order to appear trustworthy, he would have to say something anyway. "Um, while I under the impression that you are not local to this forest either, you wouldn't happen to know about any packs in the surrounding area, would you? I'm thinking of maybe lingering here for a while, and that sort of information would be very useful."

Ava feel the tension ease as Vereor backed off a bit. It could allow Argos to rest at ease that he wasn't going to get pounced on any minute and it enabled him to focus on the conversation Ava was trying to have with him. It also helped Ava. With no concerns of a battle breaking out she could really let herself be free in the conversation and keep the tension low key. She also liked the Vereor felt he could relax in front of the lupo. It showed that he had potential for a pack mate. Which was good in her eyes. The more pack members the better. Well... not completely. But more than two would be best.
"Um, while I under the impression that you are not local to this forest either, you wouldn't happen to know about any packs in the surrounding area, would you? I'm thinking of maybe lingering here for a while, and that sort of information would be very useful."
"Vereor scouted the place pretty well, there was no packs in sight. I didn't smell any either so I am fairly certain this land is safe." Ava paused for a second, stealing a glance at Vereor. Would now be the right time in mentioning their plans? Would it be okay to invite him to stay? She thought it'd be a great idea. They'd have a few days to get to know one another and decipher is they would be compatible pack mates.
"Vereor and I were actually considering taking this land as our own, and developing a pack on it." Ava's gold eyes averted from Argos' and looked towards Vereor, a small smile featuring across her maw, "If you'd like, you are welcome to stay the night with us. Maybe a few days. We can all see how we work with one another and then perhaps become a pack."
Ava looked over to Argos, her tail wagging profusely. She really wanted this to work. She could see that he had no intent on hurting the two of them, especially with Vereor there. But she couldn't read if he was really looking for a home. Some wolves are built to be travelers, some are designed to live in a pack. What was this wolf? OOC: Sorry it's not a lot o.O

Vereor had been watching this wolf with a smooth confidence. His movements were like liquid, and you could tell that he was moving with much thought to every muscle. Just because this wolf wasn’t a threat to him, didn’t mean that he could trust him. He had given into not interrupting the conversation that Argos and Ava were having, simply because he knew that Ava would be able to handle everything. She was a very strong wolf and Vereor seemed to notice that other wolves underestimated her. He was very proud to be her mate and to stand at her side every day. He wanted this wolf to understand this quickly, and he believed that he already had.
Um, while I under the impression that you are not local to this forest either, you wouldn’t happen to know about any packs in the surrounding are, would you? I’m thinking of maybe lingering here for awhile, and that sort of information would be very useful. Then his ears swiveled around to hear a voice of bells, Vereor scouted the place pretty well, there was no packs in sight. I didn’t smell any either so I am fairly certain this land is safe. Vereor nodded to the wolf, keeping his word that he wouldn’t interfere, but showed he was listening. Vereor and I were actually considering taking this land as our own, and developing a pack on it. A smooth smirk filled Vereor’s mull, he couldn’t help but be a little excited about this. He felt her eyes on him so he looked back at her, she was smiling; a breath-taking smile at best. He laughed a little and his eyes lingered on hers for a little bit.
If you’d like, you are welcome to stay the night with us. Maybe a few days. We can all see how we work with one another and then perhaps become a pack. Vereor stood up then and jogged over to Ava’s side. Backing up what she was saying. He bowed his head to the newcomer in agreement to his mate’s words. Vereor didn’t have much to say, Ava seemed to speak for him. And she always asked what he wanted to know, and gave out the information he wanted to share. She knew exactly what to say, always, and he could definitely trust her with that.

A fresh breath of wind ruffled Argos' dark fur. The scent of pine needles invaded his nostrils, but it couldn't cover up the faint scent of prey carried by the breeze. Argos instinctively licked his chops when his brain confirmed the message Food, making him suddenly feel even hungrier. He was glad to hear Ava reply. "Vereor scouted the place pretty well, there was no packs in sight. I didn't smell any either so I am fairly certain this land is safe." This supported his hope of discovering hunting grounds still untapped by wolves. His optimism was quickly dashed by her next words. "Vereor and I were actually considering taking this land as our own, and developing a pack on it."
Well darn, looks like he shouldn't have gotten his hopes up too quickly. He'd been just a bit too late arriving here. The tempting smell of distant elkryn herds deepened his pangs of disappointment. He was about to wish the happy couple the best of fortune in their life and make a quick getaway when Ava addressed him again. "If you'd like, you are welcome to stay the night with us. Maybe a few days. We can all see how we work with one another and then perhaps become a pack." Argos remained still, surprised by this sudden proposal. Rarely had he been treated so welcoming, as an equal. Vereor even bowed to him, adding to his discomfort. He hastily returned the bow, though more as a gesture of politeness than acceptance. The lupo was surprisingly unsure of himself. Hadn't he long pined for a chance to join a pack? Then why was he filled with such anxiety?
Maybe he'd been waiting for this one chance for so long that he was terrified of somehow blowing it by doing something stupid. But Ava had only mentioned him staying a day or two. This was a test. If he could behave normally for the duration, well, who knew? Argos carefully weighed the pros and cons. The former seemed to be outweighing the latter. And hey, even if they turned him down, hopefully they all would have hunted at least once before that. The promise of a full belly filled him with newfound confidence. "I would be glad to stay," he uttered, bowing once more, now to both of them. Maybe he could make something out of his situation yet.
